Sometimes you need to take a book and appreciate more of what it is， rather than what it isn't。 This is a fast paced thriller not meant to be judged and criticized。 It is just a fun， quick read。 Yes， there are holes in the development of characters， yes one of the plot lines doesn't make sense in the end; however the story was engrossing and Cole obviously knows about flying planes that built up the suspense。 Sometimes you need to take a book and appreciate more of what it is， rather than what it isn't。 This is a fast paced thriller not meant to be judged and criticized。 It is just a fun， quick read。 Yes， there are holes in the development of characters， yes one of the plot lines doesn't make sense in the end; however the story was engrossing and Cole obviously knows about flying planes that built up the suspense。 。。。more

What a nail biting， crazy flight！ I didn’t know that I was holding my breath from the tension but realized I was when I finished the book and took a big breath！ I felt like I was on the plane while it was happening and thought about what I would do。 What great plot and it kept me engaged from the beginning to the end。 This is a book you just need to read because it is amazing！ The pilot’s daughter in real life too。 😊

（ Format : Audiobook ） "Please brace for impact。" A tale of five people and many lives affected by them。 A video received by Asha， a young mother and cleaner at the airport， convinces her that the lives of her entire extended family depend on her doing as she was instructed after watching her uncle murdered。 Cora， recently widowed， is reluctantly leaving her two children with her mother， to fly to a commemorative celebration of her late husband's charity work。 Kyle is a detective， a last minute （ Format : Audiobook ） "Please brace for impact。" A tale of five people and many lives affected by them。 A video received by Asha， a young mother and cleaner at the airport， convinces her that the lives of her entire extended family depend on her doing as she was instructed after watching her uncle murdered。 Cora， recently widowed， is reluctantly leaving her two children with her mother， to fly to a commemorative celebration of her late husband's charity work。 Kyle is a detective， a last minute addition to Flight 385， following the trail of a murderer， last seen in Miami。 Finally， Elana， famous and pampered， was slumming it in first class on Flight 385 also as she heads to see her newly pregnant sister， whilst her partner， Eddie， CEO of Clark's pharmaceuticals， the beloved and very prosperous company he himself had establised， stays behind for a very important meeting。 The story's point of view revolves between these people， told simply and with good dramatic effect， characterization just sufficient to give them substance and a sense of reality。Despite a definite predictability， this is a good tbriller， made all the better by it's non-hysterical telling: the very straightforward relating makes what is being said all the more dramatic。 It feels like it could be real， and that is scary。The narration is shared: Alison Barnes takes lead voice but is backed by Marvin Catalano and Patrick Zeller， their three voices giving texture to the reading as well as better capturing the nature of the individual protagonists。 All are clear， well paced， articulate and with excellent modulation。 A fine performance from them all。My thanks to the rights holder of The Pilot's Daughter， who， at my request， freely gifted me with a complimentary copy。 It was a comparatively short read， at about five and one half hours in length， which held my attention fully through the single session in which I hungrily consumed it。 Well written and we'll performed， I can definitely recommend this book to all who enjoy plausible life threatening thrillers with revenge aplenty and just a tiny hint of romance。 。。。more

3。5* single setting readI can recommend this book to a PG audience。 The author made me feel。as if I was on that Malaysian Flight （？370） that disappeared over the Soithern Pacific。 The story served as the backdrop for extraordinary altruism。 I dont know anything about the author， but I felt that she was the heroine。 I know this book had tobe snatched up by a producer （hoping JJAbrams）。

Oh wow， I loved this book。 It's the type of book that once you start you have to keep listening to find out what happens next but at the same time you don't want it to end。 To say I was hooked was an understatement。 The story is told by multiple characters which adds to the tension because you know who to trust and are left wondering how long before the hero's figure it out。 i It's no stop action and the author really helps create the illusion you too are trapped along side the other passengers Oh wow， I loved this book。 It's the type of book that once you start you have to keep listening to find out what happens next but at the same time you don't want it to end。 To say I was hooked was an understatement。 The story is told by multiple characters which adds to the tension because you know who to trust and are left wondering how long before the hero's figure it out。 i It's no stop action and the author really helps create the illusion you too are trapped along side the other passengers as they find themselves caught up in one situation after another， this book must have taken a lot of research and it shows。 The characters are just as interesting and somehow I found myself wishing for a happy ending for some of the bad guy's too。 Just a great book that I really enjoyed and even recommend to my mum。For Cora the last thing she wanted to do was leave her children behind and travel on an airplane， especially as her husband died in a helicopter crash but when a some village is honouring his name by naming a school after him and all his hard work the least she can do is take a week away from her life。 She is joined by one hundred and fifty-four passengers， including a billionaire pharmaceutical giant's girlfriend and a homicide detective tracking down a fugitive。 Before they reach there destination however two men pull out guns and bullets begin to fly。 When the dust settles the hijackers and some of the flight crew are dead。 With nobody left to fly the plane the passengers must rally around to save themselves and Cora as the daughter of a pilot will have the hardest job of them all。 But is the threat really over？I really liked the use of multiple narrator's and thought it really enhanced the listening experience， especially the use of a few accents。Five stars all round。I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review。 。。。more

The Pilot's Daughter is yet another thriller set at 35，000 feet and is every bit as exciting and nail-biting as Falling （T。 J Newman） and Hostage （Claire Mackintosh）。 Pacific Flight 385 has recently left the tarmac at Seattle airport in Washington heading to Honolulu， Hawaii but little do the 154 people aboard the express 737 service know， but a member of the cleaning crew - Asha Farar - has been forced to partake in the terrorist’s plans as they have her family held hostage back in Somalia and The Pilot's Daughter is yet another thriller set at 35，000 feet and is every bit as exciting and nail-biting as Falling （T。 J Newman） and Hostage （Claire Mackintosh）。 Pacific Flight 385 has recently left the tarmac at Seattle airport in Washington heading to Honolulu， Hawaii but little do the 154 people aboard the express 737 service know， but a member of the cleaning crew - Asha Farar - has been forced to partake in the terrorist’s plans as they have her family held hostage back in Somalia and are threatening to kill them。 In the video showing her family held at gunpoint in the small Somali village in which she grew up， Islamic militant group Al-Shabaab present her with an address in Seattle she must attend to pick up a package; it is to be placed on the plane in the compartment holding the automated external defibrillator and to show her they're deadly serious they shoot her uncle dead there and then。 Terrified， she retrieves the pistol from the warehouse and hides it onboard。 Back on the plane， it's halfway through the flight， which has gone relatively smoothly until now。 It becomes evident that there are several hijackers onboard when they shoot dead both of the pilots， flight attendants and passengers。 Six people are slain in cold blood and no one has any idea what the motive is for the hijacking。 Those who are in charge and still alive believe there to be more terrorists posing as passengers on the flight to ensure their plan succeeds。 So knowing who to trust is a major problem and going off your gut is hardly the best idea when so many lives are at stake。 The plane falls off the radar， there's no wi-fi and the bodies are piling up。 First-class flight attendant， Mila Morina， who is an ex-military helicopter pilot， takes over the controls until she is grazed by a bullet。 Cora is a recently widowed nurse and the daughter of a commercial pilot who is on her way to Samoa via Hawaii to receive a commendation awarded to her late husband for his humanitarian work during a devastating cyclone。 She has flown via flight simulator numerous time although that is quite different to being in control of the real thing。 Seated next to her is Kyle Adams， a Seattle Homicide detective on his way to apprehend a suspect。 Can Cora， ably assisted by Kyle， land the plane safely and incapacitate any remaining threats onboard？ This is a riveting， compulsive and exhilarating thriller full of action and extreme tension。 From the get-go， you are plunged into the deep end and the high-octane， adrenaline-pumping game of cat and mouse the terrorists are playing。 It felt incredibly real and the authenticity of flight procedures comes from Cole’s father being a retired Alaskan Airlines pilot。 The suspenseful thrills， explosive twists and terrifying plot have you on edge the whole way through and guessing what was about to happen was futile as I simply couldn't guess correctly to save my life。 Highly recommended。 。。。more
